Government Must Share Jet Losses with People

The cloud of silence over how many war planes India lost in the initial stages of the Operation Sindoor now must end as the talk on it refuses to die down.
After the Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan's confirmation that Pakistan shot down some of our fighter jets on May 7, when India launched the Operation Sindoor, India's Defence Attache to Indonesia Shiv Kumar recently said that India lost fighter jets to Pakistan as the military was not allowed to target defence installations.
After the losses, India changed the tactics, neutralised their defence systems, and then we were able to hit them with Brahmo missiles deep inside, he said. He made these remarks at a seminar in Indonesia about more than weeks ago.
However, Indian embassy in Indonesia said in a post on X that Captain Kumar’s remarks "have been quoted out of context and the media reports are a misrepresentation of the intention and thrust of the presentation made by the speaker.''
Congress once again asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come clean on how many war planes India lost during the operation. The spirit of “Sa Ka Saath, Sab Vikas and Sab Ka Vishwas” must be upheld.
